Hello Masters!
What a great week, it was wonderfully packed with review and as one Masters student said,"It was the best science all year!" Thank you moms and students for all of the hard work you are doing at home, the studying is really showing in large amounts of Memory Marbles and great teamwork during review. Keep working on that Memory Work! I see a lot of Memory Masters in the making! Next week we will do a concentrated review on geography and science. Practice CLEARLY and NEATLY labeling the locations Weeks 1-6 on your map this week, we will "Show What You Know" next week in class to earn MASSIVE MEMORY MARBLES!
Thank you for the amazing presentations this week. We continue to be blessed as we learn more about one another through our presentations this year. Carlyssa, your visual aid featuring fascinating facts about your family captivated us. Great work on eye contact and volume. Addie, it was awesome learning about your talent and enthusiasm for swimming. You displayed excellent planning and organization. Your visual aids helped to explain your topic and taught us about the equipment and rewards of the sport. Elizabeth, your summer adventures were amazing. Thank you for your diligent work on your visual aid, it displayed great planning. Good use of eye contact and clear pronunciation. All presenters did a superior job answering the audience's questions.
Memory Tips and Techniques for Week Six:
History Timeline: Look for patterns to help you link your cards together, 48 cards and counting. Prophets of God, Roman Republic Developed, Persian Wars, Pericles and the Peloponnesian War, Greek Philosophers, Alexander the Great, Alexander the Great Conquers Egypt
History Sentence: Fall down to the ground as you sing and drill to explain the Four Facts about the Fall of Rome.
Geography: Sing it and label your map to the tune of "London Bridge is Falling Down."
Roman Empire London Bridge is
Spain, Gaul/France falling down
Germania falling down
Germany falling down
Alexandria/Carthage London Bridge is
Roman Empire my fair lady.
Science: What are the 5 groups of vertebrates? Sing to the Old Mac Donald tune by following the song sheet sent home with your student on Week 5.
With a fish fish here, and amphibian there, reptiles, mammals, birds are the vertebrates...
vertebrates have backbones, invertebrates do not, there are two types of animals.
