Get Ready...Get Set...Go!!!

Hello Masters families,

We are off and running with cycle two and what an action packed day we enjoyed. All of the students listened and followed along well with their class procedures and each week we will continue to move more smoothly. Thank you masters students for your leadership and servants' hearts with the classroom cleanup. I know as a tutor it was a blessing to have the help of willing students with happy hearts at the end of the day.

Presentations: Excellent effort on the impromptu speeches today. I also enjoyed getting to know more about each of you during the "string introductions game". Next week we will look forward to the first round of presentations, the skill is BODY LANGUAGE. Pick a topic you can really move to and we can see how communication is not only what you say with your mouth, but what you can communicate with your body. Be bold and expressive without saying a word! Parents, the guidelines and instructions for the topic/skill is located in the back of your RED FOLDER. Please encourage your student to record their chosen topic and practices on their LEARNING LOG so they can cash in on their hard work next week.

English Grammar: 8 Parts of Speech Use the Grammar Songs track one to help memorize this list. This was sent to you in an email from Erin Varnell and can be downloaded for your daily use. There is also a drill sheet on the 8 parts of speech in the English section of your binder. This includes definitions on the back for each term to deepen your understanding.

Latin: First Conjugation: Amo Present Tense
Drill using the endings chart in your binder for Present Tense and use the CC Audio CD.

Geography: Time to earn some cash! Practice locating the European waters on your labeled map in your binder, on your colored map, and then on your blank map of Europe at home. Students remember to write down your map labeling on your Learning Log to earn cash.

Geography Map Drawing: To deepen your knowledge of geography, practice your map drawing activity for this week ,"Draw Your World" - placing your continents. This is found in the geography section of your binder. Next week we will add detail to your continents, but this week is focused on the correct placement of the continents in reference to the Prime Meridian and Equator. I demonstrated this activity in class, so the students should be familiar with it.

Bible: Ephesians 6:1 Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right.

Have a wonderful blessed week! Parents, remember that you are the teacher and to use these study tools as much or as little as your homeschool has time to implement.

Mrs. Gaines
